What is it for? Qinoca is meant for learning to play harmonica. It is designed in a way that makes it easy to see what matters the most. You can see the notes and more subtle details such as bends and vibratos. This gives you different kind of view to playing, one that you do not listen to but watch.
Do not let the odd appearance of the "harmonica" confuse you. Unlike commonly the notes are not laid on with blow and draw notes vertically, the notes are placed on the screen by the pitch that they produce. Blow notes on the top row and draw notes on the bottom row. For each draw bend notes are connected together to make the layout more readable; same is true for blow bends, overdraws and overblows. From this it's easier to see what is actually going on and thus get a good starting point for unveiling the mysteries of harmonica playing. And best of all, you get to work on songs you have in your music collection!
With that said, please note that for Qinoca to be able to tell which notes are being played, clear harp playing with no other instruments playing at the same time is required. Depending on the song, performance therefore can vary greatly.
Qinoca works particularly well with instructional material such as CDs with clear harp playing. You no longer need to rely on tab sheets as Qinoca will show the notes in real time with impeccable timing!
